The Canadian Tuxedo

Wearing denim on denim can sometimes be a tricky thing to pull off. Pairing different washes and colours of jeans requires some thought; it's all about choosing washes that compliment each other, but aren't too similar (nobody wants to pull a Britney and Justin circa 2001).

The simplest way to make this look work is by choosing two contrasting denim pieces. I shot my friend Claire in a black denim vest and very light, acid wash jeggings.

If you are a little more daring and want to pair blue denim with blue denim, the trick here is to make sure they are not too close in colour. My friend Wanze is wearing a worn in, classic wash denim jacket with a pair of indigo jeans.

As you can see, the Canadian tuxedo doesn't always look ridiculous, and with the right styling, it looks pretty cool. Now it's time to dig out all your denim and create your own all-blue outfit!
